RootEd participants and teachers at Madison High School have embraced the challenge-based learning model to help educate their community about Covid-19 using fact-based, easily accessible information. Read more about their work below, and click here for more information about RootEd.
We are so proud of the work of all of our RootEd teachers, and it's great to see two of them, Oshen Wallin and Leslie Schoof of Madison High School, get some well-deserved love from Edutopia for their project that had students partner with school nurses and the Madison County Library System to research COVID and create a website to share their research with the community. If you know of other teachers in western North Carolina who are interested in connecting their students to community challenges please reach out to Jay Korreck at jkorreck@constructivelearningdesign.org.
