About: Susan is an experienced educator with a passion for coaching students to cultivate curiosity and to discover a clearer vision of their place in this world. The experiences of teaching in Japan, finishing graduate school, and working with a church’s youth ministry shaped Susan’s passion for teaching and learning from middle schoolers.
She taught at a public middle school teaching English and math to English Language Learners in Arlington, VA before moving to Pennsylvania for the opportunity to work with adolescents and young adults navigating the transition from pediatric to adult health care at the Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh. Susan along with her husband, Eric, have lived in Vilas since 2017.
Education: B.S. in Psychology and a B.A. in English from Mary Washington College | M.Ed in Curriculum and Instruction from George Mason University
